Match Date: 15th August 2008

Tommy RobredoRafael Nadal

Beijing Olympics 2008

Nadal continues on target for his eighth title this year, he was little known in the last Olympics but in those four years he has become king of the clay. He is due to take over the number one spot on August the 18th when the rankings are released. Short odds here but it is hard to see who will stop him getting a singles gold at his first attempt.

Djokovic is the world number three, he has progressed through to the semis with ease and has a good record against Nadal but has yet to win him on clay. To win here he will have to take every chance he gets and play more aggressive, no one is unbeatable and Djokovic knows that, if he can get an early lead and make Nadal work then he is one of only a few players who can stop Nadal in his quest for gold.

Review

Unstoppable Nadal didn't quite have this one all his own way but finally won through 6-4 1-6 6-4 to book his place in the Olympic Tennis Final where he will meet Fernando Gonzalez.
