Nadal v Fish

The biggest match of Mardi Fish's life awaits him in the form of Rafael Nadal.

Fish has quite unexpectedly made it this far into the tournament as he has never progressed further than the second round here before.

He has overcome tie breakers, defeated ninth seed James Blake and has come to the US Open with a new aggressive approach which so far has worked wonders for his game, however he now faces an even tougher task and it is difficult to see that he wll progress any further.

Nadal has looked a little off form this US Open and with such a busy and successful season it is not suprising that his form could well be slipping, he has unusually made unforced errors and at times it has looked like the US Open could be in for a major upset. However Nadal is of course king this year, Im sure he will be there on finals day.

Review

A slightly nervous start to the game for Nadal backers as he was out-gunned by the big Fish serve in the first set but he soon got back into his stride and it was business as usual for the World Number One as he came back to win 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.
