Americans must be feeling that they are in for a home winner this year with Roddick, he is having a great progression through the rounds looking better and better with each match. The crowd will certainly be behind him in this night showdown and it has all the makings of a thriller.

Djokovic seems rather out of sorts, not playing to his usual standard, he looks weary and has had to fight to get this far, even with players he should have beaten easily and the five sets he played against Robredo will not have helped his cause.

Review

After an eventful match Djokovic was booed off court with a 6-2, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (5) win over Roddick. The boos came after Roddick made remarks about Djokovics injuries to which Djokovic took offence. The match ended on a tiebreak in which Djokovic played masterfully.
