The Cincinnati Masters is an annual tennis event held in the Cincinnati suburb of Mason, Ohio, USA and is played on outdoor hardcourts.
The event started on September 18, 1899 and is today the oldest tennis tournament in the United States to be still played in its original city.
Because of its sponsorship by the Western & Southern Financial Group, the official name of the men's tournament is the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters.
If Rafael Nadal wins the tournament this year (and he has never reached a final here before) and Roger Federer goes out before the semi-final, Nadal will become Wold Number 1 after spending a record 157 weeks as Number 2.
Roger Federer may be the defending Champion but he may need to retain his title just to hold off an on-fire Nadal.
